Personalised ‘learning clues’

Keywords and terms for the lesson – including their definitions and examples – are displayed on a wall in my classroom. If students are unsure about a key word, they can walk up to the poster and read it themselves – this encourages independence but also provides support for those who need it.

I ask students to write their name on the posters they look at, so I have an understanding of which pupils are using and requiring the support; I can record this in my mark book. If many students use the poster then I also know that this may be a keyword I explain to the whole class next time!
