Students write or type the list of words they have to learn.
They set themselves targets first. Words are colour coded (Must know / Should know / Green = could know).
They then look at the French words and write the English translation from memory.
They fold the paper so that the first column is hidden. They now see the English words and they write the French. Unfold the paper at the end to check + correct any errors.
They fold the first and second column again, and write the English translation, check, fold the first 3 columns and write the French, etc.
Once the French words are spelt accurately, c’est fini! They can then review their initial targets.
